Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses clear aligners to straighten teeth discreetly. These custom-made aligners are virtually invisible and offer a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional braces.
How Does it Work?
Every orthodontic treatment plan at JT Orthodontics begins with an initial consultation. Your journey with Invisalign begins with a comprehensive exam with Dr. Jesse Teng. During this appointment, we will assess your dental needs, discuss your treatment goals, and determine if Invisalign is the right option for you. After that, our process is simple:
- Customized Treatment Plan. If Invisalign is the recommended treatment for you, our team will create a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique orthodontic needs. Using advanced digital technology, we will map out the precise movements of your teeth throughout the treatment process – so you can see exactly how your teeth will move throughout the journey.
- Aligner Fitting. Once your treatment plan is finalized, we will take impressions of your teeth to create custom-made Invisalign aligners. These aligners are designed to fit snugly over your teeth and gradually shift them into the desired position.
- Wearing Your Aligners. You will wear your Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene. Every 1-2 weeks, you will switch to a new set of aligners to continue the progression of your treatment.
- Progress Check-Ups. Throughout your Invisalign treatment, you will have periodic check-up appointments at JT Orthodontics to monitor your progress and ensure that your teeth are moving as planned. These visits allow us to make any necessary adjustments to keep your treatment on track.
- Completion and Retention. Once you have completed the prescribed series of aligners and achieved your desired results, we will provide you with retainers to maintain your newly aligned smile. Retainers help prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position over time.
